So, Ive had opportunity to change up the studio...

now its a full time creative mind, body, spirit haven...

when we first moved in...

there was a big bump out closet with these bi-fold doors...
we have since used these doors behind our bed, painted white...
looks like some crazy boho paneling.

all of me wee supplies were cozy inside this crazy bump-out...

I would change up the floral swag with the seasons etc...

how cute it was just starting out here at Fox Hill

After some updates...

and the product shelf...

I still have products when I thought we were going to be outta this sooner...

now I consider it a life time supply...?

the original arrangement of all the wee mirrors...

hey there's a face in there too!

all the taxes prepped here...

good times

when I first learned that I was going to have more than a couple of weeks...

well, how could I not start reworking what I never had time to rework...

besides, anything that is assembled...

can be disassembled.

Paint them Cabs!

Look what we diddddddddddd!!!

Finally!

The Kitchen is really starting to feel like its ours!

K, Here we go, Ive added unedited (exposure wise) pics so you can see the difference between how the reflected light from outside and in improved once the white was ON!

Here's what started this: Painting the brick around our wood stove...

Kilz Max and a teeny lil paint roller...

4hrs and done...

I may paint the grout at some point, but that's the best thing about having a house, you can do what you want, or not, you have time... and what else would you be doing with your time... watching tv...? lol

Huge Impact! Why didnt we do it sooner...

I will post some pics soon on the instagram as the sparkle is coming in to combat the dark season.

Knowing that we would be spending at least a few days with the paint... I set up a painting tray inside a box lined with a trash bag for closing it off during breaks & over night, etc...

Lined the tray with tinfoil for the easy clean up when we are all done... letting the thin film of paint at the end air dry so pulling the foil off scrunching it & tossing it is not a total mess...

I definitely wanted to skip putting any paint down the drain & into our septic system, plus you can stick your brushes inside the baggy during your breaks so that you only need to saturate your brush with paint once, and wash them once.

Do not get me wrong, I did not think our cabinets were ugly...

They were charming & for sure a selling point when we bought the house...

With a few other types of wood going on in the space... design wise, too much muddy browns, & lacked cohesion...  that Kitch needed to git it tigether!

The Kitchen was dark, like a cave, unless you had all of the lights on... all the time... and it made me want to avoid being in there... sad...

So we got crackin! Covering the counter with plastic, cuz you know its going to get busy and messy!

And Yes we left the Cabinets intact to paint... there's no need to screw with screws and lay stuff flat... where...? & hope that they dont get bumped by a pet or even worse... outside where pine needles could land in the paint... F that! ;-)

I Love the primer stage, dries quick, good quality ones have less stink & create a smoother surface!

We splurged on Kilz Max

We had one gallon, spent close to $36 at our local home improvement store, and after putting two coats on... we still have a third of a gallon left...

Dampen yer brushes with warm water before you start & you can stretch that paint! Like a roller give it a spritz or a brush dip in a lil H2O and towel off any excess... do not soak em...

Totally worth it! And just wait till I finish the Grout Paint on the floor!!!!!!!

Betcha canno wait till that oggy bloggy... at this rate, early next year lol... nah... mebee...lol

In total we spent around 15hrs painting... this wine rack did not help... small roller to the rescue!

Looks Gorge tho...

Is that my Kitchen...? Yes, yes it is my Kitchen...

Even when the Big Lights are off, no living in a cave effect!

The windows will be painted as well... just need a few secs to have the mess n clean up...

Ive gone through with my quirky lil selection of knobs... even though we have not chosen the final shade of white that will go on at some point...

Bright and Inviting...

Swoon!

Lovely Moments like this happen now... :-) can not wait to paint everything else...

And the Stairs.... Ideas have been swirling around... (halloween btw...lol)

Thank you Pinterest... I will be loosing sleep over this one! love love love!!!

Meanwhile... Im still getting used to this new Blogging situation...

Where are my pics... how to make my pics who are from one operating system speak to the other operating system with the slow lines of old dsl... wah wah... first world probs... running out of editing time lol, misspellings and no commas lol big whoop! X-D

I will get used to it, and by the time I do... there will be another form of getting this together that I will need to adapt to... blah blah blah...

Until then...

Get yer paint stuff out!

Put a paint brush in yer hand!

Most Importantly!!!!

MAKE SOMETHING!!!

XOXO
