I have done some serious rethinking!!!

Made a few 

Vignettes 

Along my way 

The last week

In progression 

Is a thing

Of the past

Tried 

A 

Myriad 

Of 

Configurations

I knew

The only way to salvation 

Was 

Minimal 

Minimalism 

And 

Floating 

Furniture 

To release the jesses

So we 

Can

Fly

I directed 

Dust

And stain

With

Tub

And brush

Uncovering 

The hidden

Treasures

Let them go

While I prepared 

For more substantial 

Finials

And 

Flourishes 

Untangled 

A years worth

Of camouflage 

And let

Those elements 

Climb

And thrive

In

Newer nests

The day was ending

And my cup was full

Ready 

Really 

Ready 

For the next moves 

Before the torrent 

After bliss

Settling images 

Into places

Some 

Very temporary 

Others 

Landing proposals 

And staking claims 

As

An army 

Of resolve 

What’s next?

The lil desk from our porch

Gets a full clean and emptying 

Putting 

Me in relax mode

The Studio

Has taken a new breath.

Studio Organization ~ Den of Paint and Suffering

Still finding pockets of art/craft/enchanted items 

That 

Really belong 

No where else 

    Than the studio…

Which means 

Every week 

I go up thinking 

Time to paint…

Only to realize there’s yet another 

Bulk dump 

Of stuff to sort and put away 

Poop! 

Trying to make sure that 

Absolutely anything 

That isn’t in a category 

Belonging to this space

Gets either sorted into its proper place 

Or tossed

It’s working!

Even when I’m not up here

I am jotting down 

The itemized moves

Like a slow motion 

Large Scale 

Tetris game

The windows and mantle 

Moving some plants into place

Cozy… 

Why don’t I have the “fire” on???

This cool desk setup…

Ed got me for Christmas 

Can’t you just picture 

All of the sewing machine projects 

Or 

As the large portion on the left tilts up

For computer work

Could be utilized as a drawing or painting easel!

Trying to hustle with getting some stuff settled

So I can 

Get something started 

ASAP 

Just one of the lunches taken here in the studio while preparing for the full throttle organization…

Omg are those kettle chips! Mmmmmm… hungry… and a cup of tea! That’s the one drawback to having the studio upstairs…

Maybe I should keep an old kettle up here for tea, and a few pantry items… Or a mini fridge full of iced coffee… oooooo! Mini kitchen? Hot plate and microwave lol! Over the top!

 It reminds me of visiting friends at their studios… big old creaky wood floors, a maze of hallways barely lit at night… next to the river by the old grammar school… just a futon on the floor and candles… doc martens and black cardigans… red lipstick and paint everywhere… push pins with every kind of inspiration and bits of journal entries, like an altar to creativity… I remember the smell too. Metallic hints from strong paints and supplies, incense, cigarettes, old wood, and hints of dust on old radiators…

The nooks n crannies 

Trying to get organized 

Before all priorities will be

Wood stoves and snow management 

I have plenty of convenient places to put things like these now!

Instead of in a random box in the attic 

Lol

All while the fall season is ramping up

Kit let me put this old pet t-shirt on him

Another attic find

So cute 

He needed lots of

Affirmations in exchange 

Worth it

&

My poems are playing hide and seek

I give them my time

They say pencil me in

And I say great I’ll get you a blog post ready

Then they get jealous of my projects 

And don’t show up

They leave no note 

No traces 

No signs 

But

I feel like they’re just waiting…

For their moment…

They’re not feral

But

Their nature is not following anyones rules…

So we wait…
