Julys Manifest Course Correction

Wearing red

Feeling red

Looking at blue

Deep breathing 

And not forgetting to hydrate 

Taking in nutrition 

Not just temporary medicine 

I’m following the instincts 

And correcting 

The negative self talk

That voice

Is not mine ~ it never was.

Anyway ~

Messages from the outside on the heavy humid nights ~

We now have enough “yard” to need an actual lawnmower ~

Battery powered and self propelled FTW …

This is a view from The Arches in the east yard~

We have some raised garden beds of the hugelkultur variety~

Lined with logs from our dead standing trees.

There are planters waiting for their drainage holes to help encircle the table and chairs within ~ whatever will we nestle into these planters… ? ? ? 

I now understand why I have heard that gardens can take 20 some-odd years to build. And considering that I’m building it up from having a derelict wooded lot ~ then terraforming up~ with removal of a monoculture of eastern white pine that had sucked all of the water from the soil. And not to forget the invasive bittersweet vines, etc… and coming up with a plan that has evolved as we’ve gotten along… I get it. 

Maybe we will win the lotto and hire in and have it all delivered and installed in a wink… dreaming is free…

So curious, and cute, I think it helps soothe and charge the process. Cold soak on a hot day is refreshing… reminds me of the old pool days, sitting on the edge and putting the legs in… 

And we have been keeping our lists of wants and needs going for the home projects… 

We are gluing our brains together at this point tho, Bodies & Entities~ would be nice if we could get some handy hands to come round and take our monies. But, it’s no one getting back to us land as we wait for the train to do it yourself purgatory…

Jokes on us, eh…? Well it’s all in the same breath that some of these blokes say ‘no one wants to work’ as they aren’t takin the job or even messaging back… they’d rather hold on to their economic model of keepin the cash and not giving a living wage to their crew… prove me wrong luv, k, I’ll wait till you get back from ye summah house vaca… jokes… 

As I keep accumulating tools to do these things, we are going to really need that garage…. BUT WHOS GUNNA BUILD IT!!!

The last 6yrs of begging ppl 

To get back to us is a lil bit much

From electricians 

To landscaping 

And trim work and front door

It’d be easier to sell and move all our stuff again

& as it turns out is a distant cousin ~

Guest Room Progress! Almost Done!

 

Here we see the real progress… 

A project begun in November… 

The goal to have a real guest room!

The need really presented itself last fall

With pandemic issues rising 

And the possibility of needing to quarantine 

Apart

To try to control both of us becoming ill

At the same time 

A bummer at anytime 

Pandemic or not

And the end of the scramble 

If a real guest room is needed 

When everything gets back to normal-ish

Shockingly we were able to source a bed frame 

And mattress 

For around 500 dollars 

It wasn’t in the budget 

But neither is one of us giving up 

Sleeping for a possible 2 week quarantine 

Even the few nights of mask up and sleep separate 

Until an official test can be scheduled…

Home tests have helped…

But if a positive result… 

A cozy exile is a comfort 

Just knowing that you will rest fully 

And obviously it’s working 

For our Skellifriend

This desky -dressing table 

Will soon be filled with 

Supplies 

Everything one could want or need

For a cozy self-care space…

And the details 

Sconce from a yard sale

I took an old lampshade 

And strung some wire

Clipping on some butterflies…

Faux Ivy 

Use some twine wrapped wire to give it structure

I’m debating the layout of the pictures

Most of this arrangement 

Had been there 

In this rooms 

Previous set up as our Snug

And maybe hanging some plants is happening…

The last corner to be done…

Waiting for their place 

On a shelf in the closet 

And the extra linens…

Maybe to take a place in the closet as well…

I put together this little chandelier yesterday 

It originally was for two tea lights…

So I clipped out the bits of wire for the candles 

And it made plenty of room for this hanging bulb

Pendant assembly that I picked up 

At Michael’s years back…

Lil Kits portrait really needs a frame… 

The new chandelier 

Sheds a nice light on him though…

I’m really basking in the fact that some efforts 

Are finally looking like progress is being made!

Feels like it’s taken forever…

And the office!

Still a bit of stuff hanging about

And adjustments 

To be made

But it is functioning!

Really hoping to have this all super close to done 

And dusted

Before outdoor chores begin…

Getting really excited about being able to get

Stuck into the chainsaw pruning jobs

And move more mulch!!!

Oh! And the YouTube channel is at 100 subscribers!

I’m so excited!!!!

I’m going to put a bit of a room tour for the guest room 

On the next video! 

Until then I’m resting after being on my feet too much yesterday… heating pad and all…

But I’ve been daydreaming while painting…

Looking at plants I’d love to add to our gardens 

We already have a lot of warm colors of plants

Maybe a few more pollinator faves…

I have some blue toadflax in my cart as well…

We shall see…

It just makes it so easy to shop….

My favorite mix right now ~

I make a simple syrup with local honey 

4 ice cubes 

Layer the coffee on that with the top room~

Beverage attic ~ if you will lol

Layered with 

Unsweetened almond milk

I love how it stays separate until I mix…

Reminds me when we used to go out for coffee on the 

Weekends…

I consolidated 

And

Moved stuff

How does it accumulate 

All this accoutrement-ish stuff

It looks great when placed 

But

When it’s strewn about 

It just looks like junk!

Wtf lol

I’m realizing this warm to cool mix

It’s really hitting the spot for me!

I’m not a huge fan of traditional looking sconces 

And there are four of these in this room… 

All connected…

With only one light switch… 

Meh… we’ve never used them…

But this may be the lewk…

Corona: The Magic of Isolation

Disclaimer: this is written from the point of view of someone who has a really privileged set up in life. don't get me wrong, I'm no where near rich, but I've worked my reality theory to the bone to be set up in a wee woodland "light palace" with all the magic I could muster & with the stubbornness of a bull. what's under all that, like anyones situation, is love and light. if you actually read this y'aunty B is going to connect with ya for a sec to send the biggest virtual hug or generous bow while saying "M'Lady".

Catch up on Laundry- omg if you have to go to a Laundromat... I feel you! I have lived that Life... super not fun anytime there was illness or bad weather...

Paint sample works; Ive got a whole list of images that I want to put on canvas. Do you have a fave pic of your pet, babes, vaca? etc... my retirement- get it going now...

Paint woodwork: there are several areas in ma house that now have half way painted doors etc...

Film a House Plant Tour- you know you wanna see what's up with the plant pals! lol

Photo my Pets: like what's really going on in there, behind those eyes... y'know.

Honestly tho, I will probably set something up so that everyday I have something to entertain and take the mind off of the worry that I feel- not only from me -but from others hiding- just under the surface of things...

:-( its going to be ok says the voice in the back o me head... I know I should listen to her more.

we've already been taking all of the vitamins and I started taking soothing therapeutic baths...
maybe I will film a wee garden tour... we had a world class looking crocus come up the other day!!!

are you guys having trouble putting the whole thing into perspective? when I have the anxiety moments of trying to conceive of the whole thing, I try to only think of the one day. I will mix one activity that exercises my brain, then one that exercises my body...

HOW FUNNY IS THIS THO! I DREAM OF HAVING TIME OFF! A WEEK OF VACA! TWO?
TWO WEEKS OFF? I don't get sick pay or vacation pay, so Ive built it into my budget to be able to sail a bit if money isn't coming in... I didn't have that luxury many times in my life tho... I know what its like to evaluate your belongings and wonder how much you can fit in your car to live in it... selling off all your stuff to pay bills, while most ppl just shrug and look at you with pity, and sometimes with disgust...lol those were the days.

BUT, having your ducks in a row doesn't make you safe from this scenario...
I have a small private styling practice in a home studio, NOT open to the public, etc...
while I was working my butt off making sure that my home, self, studio were totally germ free and sanitized... and reminding ppl that they should feel free to reschedule if they or anyone that they've been in contact with had any symptoms or fever ... it did not stop someone from thinking that they're exposure to the virus was as insignificant as they made it seem- it would be no big deal coming to my home for their service... well, Ive shut that down for sure... imagine having that moment of "oh, shoot, should I just sanitize everything again and just not tell anyone" NO!!! this persons actions, lies, disrespect took my option of exposure away. ULTIMATE VIOLATION of not only my policies, but the safety of me, my husband, and anyone who was coming after her for services... she lied about exposure in her response to my reminder text... but she came out with the whole story while she was here... why say anything at all??? like the liability of possible exposure to just two people wasn't as severe as who knows how many???

I COULD GO ON AND ON ABOUT THIS - FEELINGS OF BETRAYAL ETC...

we live in a cloud of lysol for now *sigh*

but I have to focus on the good things coming!

vaccines and antibodies SOON SOON SOON

cheerleader pom poms SOON SOON SOON

until then we are self monitoring for symptoms...

Garden Answer is one of our faves, gardening & a nice lady n her fam... its got some fun bloopers too and their cat Russel is so cute.

if you need more performance art: Emilia Fart is the best thing going as far as the ordering a pizza to be delivered to a graveyard at midnight genre goes lol OOO or dying your hair in a grocery store....
